This section includes lesson plans and activities relating to the history of the Hunley, the first submarine ever to sink an enemy battleship. As you may know, the Hunley mission was carried out in 1864 and similar technology was not seen until World War II, so this vessel claims a great deal of historical significance. We hope your class will enjoy learning a little more about the history of the Hunley and the context in which it was built.
